and Other Dispatches From Fifty Years of Reporting on Race in America

I ordered this in the summer because one of the articles was excerpted in the Ottawa Citizen. Trillin is an accomplished writer and these are an interesting chronicle of his reporting on various topics relating to race relations. He reports as a detached outsider - because of his role as journalist - the fight of African-Americans (and sympathizers) for their civil rights in the U.S. From the early days of the movement in the 60's to more recent times. Worthwhile reading.
