Ross Poldark

[a Novel of Cornwall, 1783-1787]
Nov 14, 2016
This book covers Ross Poldark's return to Cornwall, up to the Christmas he spends with his family, just before Demelza announces her pregnancy. At times the phrases used to describe characters, or situations is humerus, especially when describing Jud or Purdie. Readers also get more of an inside look into Ross and Demelza's characters, and their relationship. The flow of the writing is very well done, the descriptions are detailed enough for readers to form images with out slowing down the story. You end this book feeling like the characters have grown, changed and will continue to do so, however it is not a cliff hanger. The style of writing makes a historical novel easy to read, understand, and very enjoyable. It was kinda refreshing to read a book with out entire chapters devoted to violence or sex.
