Very, very funny - Hitler treats himself with profound seriousness, and joke comes out on us in a contemporary period. We follow fads online, and give weight to outrageous opinions, and Vermes shows us how easily we can laugh our way with an "entertainer" or pundit all the way into serious trouble. We as the reader can laugh out loud at Hitler's reactions to 21st-century culture (People actually take the time to pick up droppings after a pet dog? They watch something called U-Tube?), but also can laugh at our own way of unthinkingly following fads of popular thought. Nothing changes, perhaps...
