Evolution and the Science of Creation

Unconvinced. Bill Nye presents his argument in his easy style aimed at the grade 7 or 8 student. This means that it is important to not muddy the discussion with possible alternative ideas. Just make your statements as though everyone knows they are the latest in truth. There is much discussion about change within species but he never gets to species making significant new creatures. The world is full of wonderful creatures which have no obvious evolutionary forebearers. He does not acknowledge any difficulties explaining these at all. Lots of bold statements about the history of nature and some snide remarks about "science deniers", lots of guessing how things might have come to be but very little real details about any well established facts of evolution. Mostly bluster, I think. Not one of the Science Guy's better books. He is better at describing the science of everyday things.
