Nov 29 2015......The last time I watched this movie, DVD's had not been invented yet! During Remembrance day, our family was sitting watching some shows on the TV about the Nazi death camps. My daughter's fiance is from Germany, and he was telling her about this movie, so we ordered it up from the library. After she had watched it, I decided to renew it and watch it again myself. I had forgotten how powerful it was. I clicked on the bonus features, and was entranced by the shoah interviews. To watch the actual survivors, telling their stories, and seeing the real photographs from the times was so moving. Don't return this movie without watching the bonus material!........I see there are quite a few more books and audios about Schindler available at our library. I believe I will spend some time in the next year or so immersing myself in this subject. With all the wars still happening around the world at this time, and particularly the Syrian refugee crisis, I feel it is important to remember the words of the survivors at the end of the shoah interviews.....'Don't hate, it is an evil thing, we must all learn to accept one another, and live with one another.' Get along with your neighbours,' and 'Everyone has something to offer.'
