This is my first book by Dunn, so I cannot compare it to her others, but it seems to be less a cozy mystery than a character study of Cornish villagers as they deal with murder. Very enjoyable, light read with enough people to entertain but not so many that one wants to make a chart to keep them straight. Dunn makes it clear who is and is not central to the story. I mostly chose this because I thought the dog played a central role, and was sorry it didn't.
