What happens when we die? King gives us one take on this in "Willa" as he opens this collection of short horror stories and comes back to it in the New York Times story. Got a gripe with stationary bikes? There's a story in here for you. Dreams feature in many of these stories, or rather, nightmares. Is OCD contagious? How thin is the veil that separates our reality from another, grimly dark one full of monsters? Hmmm. . . read 'N'. From Harvey's Dream to Graduation Day to Mute, King continues to surprise us. My favorite one is 'The Things They Left Behind', that deals with some of the aftermath of the 9/11 real-life horror. There's even an evil cat story, of which I don't think my friend Claudette would approve; however, no cats are killed in this story--NOT a spoiler.
