The graphics were so, so male-gaze oriented that it was a bit difficult at times to appreciate the otherwise solid art. That said, the alt-history storyline is interesting, especially in the current political climate. With an Anita Bryant-type backed by a homespun-type vigilante supervillian out to purify the nation from, well, everything, what if Russia was the bastion freedom? What if they sent a KGB agent to counter the conservative movement and it's violent takeover? Red One is a great reluctant heroine who just wants to do the job and go home - even if her love of fun and tendency toward attachments might get in the way. Lots of violence toward women and lgbtq, but not overly graphic considering the format.
