"After one of the most contentious and divisive elections in American history, the new president is finally settling into the West Wing. But when his chief of staff discovers evidence that voting machines in key counties in swing states were tampered with, the whole administration is in danger of unraveling. Did someone steal the election? Are America's enemies involved? Were the tampered-with machines actually rigged to swing the election the other way -- and if so and the plot failed, what is the conspirators' backup plan? Jake Grafton and Tommy Carmellini race to solve the mystery of a potentially rigged election before Americans' full faith and credit in our democracy, sovereignty, and rule of law become completely undone."-- From publisher's description.

Don't bother unless you are a right-wing conspiracy theorist. The book starts off by using the 2016 Presidential race as a lead-in with the candiate's names changed. Also, Coonts uses the myths, like 3-4 million illegals voting, that the right-wing trotted out and stated them as facts. Very lazy story telling. Stephen Coonts is off my reading list.

I just received an author alert from my library they are ordering copies of this book. There was a big dichotomy of reviews after the last book and I fall in the group who strongly disliked the political views taken in Liberty's Last Stand which departed from the more or less a-political stance of Coonts' earlier books. I see online this new book is a continuation of the Jake Grafton series of books and it will be interesting if this book continues in the extreme right wing, and at times bordering on racist, views of that book. Until I see content reviews I am not going to be encouraging purchase of many copies of this book by reserving a copy. This is the first time I have ever just stopped reading books by an author, even if I didn't agree with all their perspectives.
