"The girl who fell to Earth. Loma Shade may be from another planet, but she's still like every other twentysomething who feels that their life is going nowhere fast. Bored out of her mind, her solution is to drop out of school, dump her boyfriend and leave her homeworld of Meta behind--courtesy of the infamous "madness coat" of renegade poet Rac Shade, which is not so much a garment as it is a multidimensional gateway. After stealing the coat and astrally projecting herself across space, Loma ends up in the body of Megan Boyer, an Earth girl who seems to have it all: youth, beauty and a conveniently damaged brain. Following her "miraculous" recovery, however, Loma finds there's just one problem with being Megan: Everyone hates her. She was a bully who terrorized her enemies and her friends alike, and now Loma's stuck with the consequences. To make matters worse, back on Meta there are dark forces that want Rac's dangerously valuable coat for their own nefarious purposes, and they're closing in on Loma's vulnerable physical body. At the same time, the primal madness that the coat channels is slowly, irresistibly eroding Loma's equally vulnerable soul. With two new lives to live, can this Changing Girl survive either one without losing her mind?"--Back cover.

Cool concept but I do not like the creepy idea of an alien inhabiting someone's body without their permission and actually then defeating them to steal their body.

Really trippy artwork and execution, but I had great trouble liking either main character as they were both awful to their friends. I will await volume two to see where the story is going....

So i liked the art style very cool and trippy, it's what drew me to the book in the first place. But the story itself was ok, the concept was interesting. An alien woman unsure in her own life starts over in a human girl's body, it's bound to be interesting how different their lives were and how she would adapt. But the execution was not to my taste, and it could get confusing at times. Maybe if I read another volume I could enjoy it but I don't think I will.

It was kinda dull for me until nearly the end. Megan was awful person but so was Loma. Like I get she needed an escape but what happened to her ex was bad. Loma did have her good moments like when she tried to make amends for Megan's actions (it's a shame she can't do it for herself in her own body) and the zoo scene, but I swear River was the only redeemable character in the whole book.
