"Less" is right. You'll leave this book wanting "more." If this wins a prestigious award, I'll eat my hat. What's that you say? It won the Pulitzer? Pass the salt.

I was expecting so much from this book after reading the glowing reviews. I found it tedious and not funny at all. There are too many other books to read so didn't even finish it.

It was an interesting book but I'm still confused as to why it won the Pulitzer (unless the committee was entirely made up of aging gay writers). It reads as gay wish-fulfillment - for younger folks hoping they will age in a delightfully exotic way and older folks who seek to know that their life can still be exciting. The book takes a lot of turns to really get nowhere in the end. Worth the read on a beach when you're looking for something fluffy but definitely give it a pass if you're looking for more in-depth writing.

Absolutely amazing. This is my new favorite author. I honestly didn't expect to be able to relate to it as most of the characters are gay. But now he is only the second author to whom I've ever sent a fan letter/email.

Well guess I didn't get this book - after almost 50 pages of this short book I still had not found anything that was sightly funny - let anywhere near hilarious. Glad that others were able to get something out of this that made it worth finishing,

This book has it all -- a middle-list gay author (not a major figure!) about to turn 50, and his memories while enduring a slightly ridiculous world travel itinerary, has satire, laugh-out-loud humor, sharp characterizations, plus a lot of heart. It's really a romance. Loved it.

This is the kind of book that makes people say, "Why don't books like that win awards?" - which makes its recent Pulitzer Prize all the more satisfying. LESS is a humane, thoughtful, funny novel of missed connections, minor coincidences, and deep, abiding loves of all sorts.

It's been a long time since a book has touched my heart like this one. Arthur Less is about to turn 50, his lover has left him to marry someone else, and Arthur decides to go on a journey around the world. At times laugh-out-loud funny, and other times tender and heartbreaking, this is a book worth keeping on the bookshelf.
