Meh. While titled "Civil War II", this story doesn't have much of the Marvel Universe changing effects or excellent writing of the first story (a couple of characters died, but it's otherwise business as usual). The writer attempts to tie in the real life issue of profiling, but fails to draw a good parallel, and it's not instantly relatable. In "Civil War", children died due to irresponsibility, which demanded a solution. The solution demanded that people take sides, and fight if they disagreed. In "Civil War II", they saved the earth twice, but worry that the power might someday be used incorrectly. This seems like a legit but not urgent concern, and there's plenty of time room to work out a mutually-beneficial solution (though they don't because reasons).

Also worth mentioning that almost none of the characters we grew close to are featured in this story. I do enjoy the new Ms. Marvel and Spider Man, but Parker Spider-Man, the X-Men, and most of the Avengers are sitting this one out. Captain Marvel has had no good writers and for a strong character, she's difficult to relate to. Iron Man is out of character and his theory of "protecting the future as the future" is difficult to understand and relate to. The whole thing is solved by a Deus Ex Machina, and everything goes back to normal.

Not a bad read, but not worth the hype.

Super intense and thrilling storyline! Civil war once again rips the fabric of the Marvel universe. Iron Man versus Captain Marvel...only one can win! Civil War 2: Change the past....or protect the past?
