Not what I was expecting. I thought it would revolve around the actual basement tapes recording sessions, it really doesn't. It revolves around a cache of discovered lyrics written by Dylan during the sessions. I should have known better; the sessions were recorded on audio tape, no video tape was involved. This revolves around an assembled group of musicians (most of whom I'd never even heard of) trying to set the lyrics to music. It was a record company concept; an invented event. It was boring. I fast forwarded through most of it looking for any interview footage with the actual participants (Dylan, Robbie Robertson, etc.). Save your time. Listen to the Basement Tapes audio recordings. There's nothing here; keep moving folks.
