wow. this game is the best zelda game i played!( even though i've only played ocarina of time 3d) it takes the endless headaches of zelda , and puts it into a more league of legends kind of style ( without campions) and its got alot of character and events from old games! but, if you are new to the zelda franchise, and are looking for knowledge, don't play it.

This game is AWESOME. I absolutely love it. I am newer to the Zelda crowd, having played Ocarina of Time on N64 a bit when I was younger but I never owned the game. I now have Twilight Princess and that's been my first real experience of the Zelda franchise.

We took this game, Hyrule Warriors, out of the library in curiosity before buying it (because why not?) and oh my god it is incredible. The graphics are amazing, the gameplay is SO much fun... the music is great as usual. I love the options to play as so many different characters and as you play, you get many different weapons to choose from as well (at least for some characters) which can really vary the gameplay (example for Link, going from a sword to using Epona is a huge difference!).

My only complaints is that the game reuses a lot of the same settings and only a handful of different bad guys, but overall the gameplay and graphics and music are so pleasing that it isn't that big of a deal. The only other complaint I have is that the characters don't have voices, just kind of gasp and sigh with the text on the screen. I totally understand that's how other Zelda games have been, but this felt out of place when the game is SO well put together otherwise, and I was a bit disappointed in that. These two reasons are the only things "wrong" with the game in my opinion, other than I wish it was longer!!

I would highly reccommend this game, whether a Legend of Zelda fan or not; it is just plain fun and visually/aurally pleasing. :D

Also I said on the next tab that I think this game is suitable for ages 10+, that's mostly just because a couple of the monsters are actually pretty scary so I imagine a jumpy child could be frightened; if your kid is brave, I'd imagine 7 or 8 and up would probably be fine.

I have been playing Zelda since the classic 8-bit style. My dad intoduced me when young and I loved it. The Legend of Zelda Has always been a series that composed mostly of Adventure games that allow the player to travel all across the open world at will. This newest installation is a remarkable change of style from Nintendo.
Composing primarily of a story mode and an adventure mode, Hyrule Warriors has loads of challenges and things to unlock. Choose the Story mode to go on a cutscene based adventure across Hyrule with stunning visuals. Although the main Story Mode seems to be slightly lacking in complexity and challenge, choosing to continue introduces a vast variety of gimmicks and villians to at least keep the Main Mode fresh and interesting.
Upon completing the story the player can finally procede to the meat of the game. Beating story provides tons of new features such as Adventure Mode: A wonderful Nostalgic throwback to the good old NES Zelda, with 8-bit stlye select screen and the same map as the first game. Some slight changes make the map not entirely true to the original but still nearly the same.
Adventure is debatably the most fun mode as it allows the player to unlock some of the more enjoyable characters such as Zant and Ruto. Although it may take some time to unlock adventure, the cost is worth it.
But the game dosn't end there. Nintendo has announced and already released some DLC (Downloadable Content) for the game that add other Adventure maps, (Twighlight Realm) new characters, and remarkable new weapons. Cleverly enough Nintendo also made Amiibo compatible with Hyrule Warriors by letting you unlock new weapons by scanning different characters. Over all this game proved an amazing addition to the the Zelda Universe even throw the style of play may make some players reluctuant at first.

I've been a fan of Zelda games since I was a child on 8-bit NES.

I understand this is a Dynasty Warriors game re-skinned as Zelda but unfortunately I find this type of game to be extremely boring because it is so repetitive so repetitive.

Very little variety in the gameplay beyond button mashing.

First hour was fun, the second hour was tolerable, and the third hour I was questioning why I was still playing. I'm very happy I didn't buy this game!

There is a voiced narrator in between levels, but the characters in game lack voices (?!!?). I guess they are trying to be more like Zelda games this way, but they need to modernize those too. This feels very jarring for how cinematic they present the game. I hope sincerely that future Zelda games feature quality voice acting and not just the occasional grunts and yells with text at the bottom. Gameplay feels like an N64 game with a HD coat of paint.

I do like that there are lots of characters to play as though, that part is neat. Also being able to play second player with player 2 on the gamepad is really nice, so no need to share tv screen!

This game has a TON of stuff to do (even if it is all basically the same thing over and over and over)
I think younger people will love it and have a lot of fun with it, but as an adult I don't have the patience for mindless button mashing anymore.
