Change the world with a bullet. It's 1987 and homeless teenager Marcus Lopez Arguello has no reason to keep living. Until one fateful evening he is approached by a mysterious girl who invites him to join Kings Dominion Atelier of the Deadly Arts, a brutal, clandestine high school, where the world's top crime families send the next generation of assassins to be trained. Murder is an art, killing is a craft and the dagger in your back is no metaphor.

I love the idea of the story and the artwork, but the story did not have a good direction of what it represented. I felt like there were no real consequences even when someone was killed. There's a lot of good ideas, but there aren't put together in this volume. Hopefully there will be better improvement for the next volume.

Love this comic even thought the newer issues aren't all that great. Picture Hogwarts, but instead of wizards, kids are learning how to be assassins. If you're a fan of 1980s punk/style, this is a fun read.

Teenage angst thrown in with assassin school. Its action packed and fun. Remender does his usually wonderful job of making great but flawed characters throw into a wacky setting and backstory.

Lots of points for the art on this one. Looks gritty, retro, and definitely tips the hat to Frank Miller's Sin City art as well. It's labeled as a comic about an assassin's school in the 1980s but there's a bit more going on here than that. There's a part of it there but we're dealing a lot with emotional motivations and other problems that these children on crime families and the like have to deal with and the fact that they are at a school to learn how to be assassins. Family profession isn't everything and all that. It'll be curious to see what befalls these kids next.
