Funny moments, with the usual silly mishaps by Sellers, where he tries to cover for his errors, but the slow pace was tedious. One should expect much of the humor to be typical of the 60's - racist, sexual innuendo, and specifically scenes we now see as sexual harassment rather than funny.

Very funny if you love Peter Sellers and have the patience for "The Party's" slower, more nuanced pace. I've watched this film wondering if director Blake Edwards (and actor Sellers) was inspired by the comic sensibilities of European filmmakers (Jacque Tati and his Monsieur Hulot films come to mind). But Sellers is absolutely wonderful as an amiable, sweetly clueless Indian actor who is delighted to find himself "invited" to an exclusive and high-powered Hollywood party where his every move causes chaos. Recommended.

An all-time classic - one of the top comedies of the 60's.
This is a MUST see movie !

Follow the hapless Bakshi as he enlivens a rather dull party.

We love Peter Sellers and Blake Edwards, but this film was slow, pointless, and BORING!!! We gave up after 30 minutes. One to miss.

Pretty slow throughout most of the movie, but there are a few funny gags sprinkled in there (SPOILER ALERT: particularly the accidental destruction of the movie set at the beginning and the bathroom scene!).

I saw this movie as a kid, and thought it was hilarious. Just watched it recently, and it is still just as funny. Sellers is an Indian (???) actor invited to a swank Hollywood party by mistake. And just like Mr Bean would do 20 years later, gets himself into all sorts of hilarious trouble. I have never been fond of Sellers as an actor, but this movie is just too much fun. I loved it as a kid, and still love it today.
