Add a CommentFantastic finale to the Monument 14 trilogy. This one told from the perspective of Dean and Josie. It is heartbreaking to see the conditions the refugees have to deal with especially in the O blood-type camp. Makes you think of our modern-day prisons and their concentrated populations of violent personalities.
Laybourne does a wonderful job of tying this up with a rather neat bow without being sappy or sugarcoating the conditions these kids have to deal with. This was definitely the best of the three.
I really enjoyed reading this book! I was really taken in by how much was going on. All the places the characters were going in their adventure, the suspense, the character development, the drama, it really kept me reading! It was also interesting to see how the rest of the country was effected by the chemical leaks as well as how others were reacting. Although I'll admit I found Dean and Jake's fights to be annoying time to time, but I'm glad things eventually settled. Overall I think this was a great book and I'd recommend it to anyone interested to give it a try! (Starting with the first book)
The final book in the trilogy mirrors the real world in so many ways, as we see how people are segregated and treated in the refugee camps and treatment centres. An action packed finish to the series which was well worth the read.
Set in the not too distant future, this is a very good series. What makes it scary is the fact that the disasters that happen are actually possible. She is a good writer and leaves you wanting another book in the series, just to find out what happens next.
My favourite book of the trilogy.
Amazing book!!!! Jake and Astrid were a little annoying, though.
I was so pumped to read this and it COMPLETELY blew me away! This whole series was amazing! The plot twists were awesome and always kept me on edge. This is probably one of the best series that I have read in a really long time. Definitely a must read.
