This was an awesome book. Although I was slightly disappointed that the whole book wasn't about Siberia I got over it quickly. I never would have thought it was possible to do something like this! And it was amazing how it made it happen. I especially enjoyed the thoughtful way the author tried to share his emotional and spiritual growth with us. Altogether it was entertaining and enlightening. More than just a book about cycling - although it certainly was that too! Must get the husband to read this. Maybe we could finally try to go across Canada - it doesn't seem so hard after reading this!
Thoroughly entertaining. Whenever I look at a country on the map, my first thought is always "what would it be like to cycle there?", and yet I never thought it would even be possible to bike around places like Papua New Guinea. I found the crossing of Tibet in winter and Afghanistan particularly interesting. It's also quite fascinating to get in the head of someone able to spend three entire years on his bike
I couldn't put this book down till I finished it
Thinking I am hard done by trying to cycle in Ottawa in the winter reading about Rob's exploits in Siberia in the middle of winter was an eye opener
The amazing thing is how he managed to organize this trip with essentially no sponsorship and cheap equipment
Highly recommend this book
