Hansel und Gretel

Hansel und Gretel

DVD - 2008 | German
Rate this:
"Johannes Felsenstein portrays abject poverty in moving images and depicts the strength of imagination with which Hansel and Gretel dream of a colourful world in which their mother and father lovingly care for them. The Christmas Eve scene with the witch game is reality for them, but remains an utopian dream. Despite the uniqueness of this interpretation of the story, it is both logical and consistent and makes it a piece of realist music theatre not just for children"--Container.
