When journalist Ann Mah's diplomat husband is given a three-year assignment in Paris, Mah is overjoyed and begins plotting gastronomic adventures à deux. Then her husband is called away to Iraq on a year-long post -- alone. So, not unlike another diplomatic wife, Julia Child, Mah reinvents her dream of living in France, one dish at a time. And somewhere between Paris and the south of France, she uncovers a few of life's truths.

Too much emphasis on her emotional state(s) to take this book seriously as a food and travel book as intended.
Would make a good 'chick-flick'.

Autobiography, France, and French food - a balanced blending of three of my favorites! The author generously shares her struggles as well as her accomplishments, inviting us to draw life lessons for ourselves. A single recipe wraps up each chapter succinctly.
