The quality was so erratic - I loved parts and hated parts in equal measure. Some bright spots - the story of Jiro, the Batman of Japan, was madcap enough to remind me of Batman '66. I did not like the direction the plot took at the end, which I can't discuss because - spoilers. Also available as a digital comic on Hoopla.

The ending to the long running story line presented through out the series, and it was disappointing. The second half of it, which was all about the Japanese batman was pretty good, not quite enough to make up for the let down of the first half though.

Morrison's weak ending to a long involvement in the world of the Batman. His style as a writer is seriously hampered by the fact that he comes across as if he requires drugs to write. Either that, or he's clinically insane.

Very good storyline however the artwork could have been better.

A disappointing end to a long-running and frequently gripping storyline. Once Morrison sets the stage for a final titanic conflict, he seems to struggle for an ending that matches the anticipation.
