A collection of films from the French comedy master Pierre Etaix whose films went unseen for decades as a result of legal tangles. These films were influenced by Pierre Etaix's experience as a circus acrobat, clown, and the silent film comedies that he adored. (Le grand amour) Pierre married Florence, the only daughter of a small industrialist. 15 years later, he is the boss, but his middle-class life worries him a lot. When a new young and lovely secretary comes, he starts dreaming. (Land of milk and honey) After the events of May 1968, the French went on vacations and were filmed during three months on the rural fairs, on the beaches, and on promotional campaigns for products and politicians. They spoke to the director's candid camera on a variety of subjects, from man walking on the moon to eroticism, from advertisement to marriage.
