I like all of Georgette Heyer's books because of her witty style. This one was different in that it's about a newlywed couple, except misunderstandings arise and things get completely out of hand. I thought Nell was annoyingly stupid sometimes, but overall, it was a good story. Recommended if you like Georgette Heyer. If you haven't read any of her other ones, read a different one instead.

not one of her better efforts ...it's a bit of a jumble ... the main characters of Nell and Cardross seem to be more like supporting characters in the story

very predictable but still diverting. If you like Jane Austen you will probably like Georgette Heyers' style. However The Toll Gate and A lady of Quality were better than April Lady.
