While informative and well-written, this book weighs heavily on the negatives. Most topics are barely touched, so it just seems to pile one thing to worry about on top of the other. If you want to get informed but see more of the positive side, watch The Business of Being Born and More Business of Being Born.

If you liked the documentary film "The Business of being Born", this is for you. It's an expanded version. It is a great read and full of excellent research. I loved all the facts and numbers- which was refreshing from a lot of the material out there which is just based on theories or gut feelings. A great read for any wanna-be-parent.

This book is always available in the PlaneTree Health Information Center @ Cupertino Library. GF 100 M 2013
