"The City Dark chronicles the disappearance of darkness. The film follows filmmaker (and amateur astronomer) Ian Cheney who moves to New York City from Maine and discovers an urban sky almost completely devoid of stars. He poses a deceptively simple question, 'What do we lose, when we lose the night?"--Container.

An excellent look at what it means for people and other creatures on this earth to have so much light at night all over our planet. How can we know our place in the universe if we only see a handful of stars in the night sky?

Excellent science-lite(pun intended) look at the negative impacts of city lights. Be sure to watch it in a dark room!
