"In The Manga Guide to Calculus, you'll follow along with Noriko as she learns that calculus is more than just a class designed to weed out would-be science majors. You'll see that calculus is a useful way to understand the patterns in physics, economics, and the world around us, with help from real-world examples like probability, supply and demand curves, the economics of pollution, and the density of Shochu (a Japanese liquor)."--Back cover.

It's written by an economist.Good and informative mix of calculus and manga with some economy related examples. The plot is about a reporter Noriko who works for the Asagake Times and would like to make it big in journalism but to her dismay is set to work at a small branch office. There she meets the mathematically keen Kakeru Seki and Futoshi. She later on finds an article that Mr.Seki wrote accusing one of the paper's advertisers (a chemical company) .When Noriko brings this up in a subtle way to Mr.Seki in there last lesson they later on get an apology from the chemical company and are all promoted.I liked the story and the way things were explained.
