An interesting collection of real crime cases. Good psychological description of individuals involved by unfortunate and/or social circumstances. Good writing, good translation.

This is an amazingly well-written book, very sparse and yet with an excellent eye for detail. The depiction of each character in each story is masterful. The stories are very easy to read - I read this volume in one afternoon.

This German author tells his stories in a very minimalistic manner. Once you get used to the writing style, you may even find you like it. These stories of crime and the people who committed them were harrowing and a bit disturbing, and its interesting to see them from the p.o.v. of a defense attorney.
