Within a single generation, digital media and the World Wide Web have transformed virtually every aspect of modern culture, from the way we learn and work to the ways in which we socialize and even conduct war. But is the technology moving faster than we can adapt to it? And is our 24/7 wired world causing us to lose as much as we've gained? This in-depth exploration of what it means to be human in a 21st-century digital world continues a line of investigation that began in 2008, with the FRONTLINE report "Growing Up Online." The journalists attempt to understand the implications of living in a world consumed by technology and the impact that this constant connectivity may have on future generations.

Agree with all the comments. Very in-depth look at the pros & cons...many of which we do not think about, plus the possible outcomes, good or bad. A lot of great opinions & lots of great "food for thought".

This is a 86-minute documentary about the digital world, in which some people take advantage of the digital technokogy at the cost of the unprivilaged
people, that is, the people in Afganistan.
The US Air Force drone pilots are killing the Afgan soldiers intentionally as well as civilians unintentionally in Afganistan.
Those US pilots are killing people using their joysticks in such a comfortable place in the States---some 45 hundred miles away from Afganistan.
This is awefully wrong!
Think about, for example, the drone technology which is now in hand of the Afgan pilots who would control drones from home and would kill New Yorkers,
Chicagoans, and Ciscoans.
How would ex-president George Bush think about it?
So don't use digital technology to kill real people in the real world.
Instead, use digital technology to kill dummies in the virtual world!

A lot of interesting expert interviews regarding the digital encroachment on our lives, including an interview with the founder of Second Life. Controversy over the US military's internet war games soft recruiting strategy.

An excellent overview !...
BUT I wish there were updates on this Frontline subject ,..and with more depth.

Its suprising how LITTLE research is being done concerning the Cyber-impact on the human brain ,..ie.: multi-tasking dysfunction, alternate-life-fantasy, electronic stalking (!), etc.
