The first three books of this series were solid. The fourth book (The Fighting Agents) began to show signs of bloat as Griffin added more subplots than he could effectively manage.

The Saboteurs falls way short of the rest of the men at war series. It strikes me as more of a throw-away book in the series since it does nothing to advance the overall storylines of Canidy, Fullmar, Bitter, Ann, Douglas, or the rest. Canidy and Fullmar were the only main series characters to have any role in the book, and even those were secondary.

The main plot - German Abwher agents in the US - had potential, but was resolved through petty coincidences. The resolutions Griffin used weren't satisfactory in any way.

Simply poor writing.

I'll finish the series since I only have one more to go, but I don't plan on trudging through #6 if it's anything at all like The Saboteurs.

Extremely disappointing. It looks like Griffin's son did not inherit his father's talent
