On the silver anniversary of its original publication, Bacall brings her inspiring memoir up to date. Bacall and Humphrey Bogart produced some of the most electric scenes in movie history, and their romance on and off screen made them Hollywood's most celebrated couple. But when Bogart died of cancer in 1957, Bacall and their children had to take everything he had taught them and grow up fast. In a time of postwar communism, Hollywood blacklisting, and revolutionary politics, she mixed with the legends: Hemingway, the Oliviers, Katharine Hepburn, Bobby Kennedy, and Gregory Peck. She was engaged to Frank Sinatra and had a turbulent second marriage to Jason Robards. But Bacall never lost sight of the strength that made her a superstar, and she never lost sight of Bogie.

Who knew Lauren Bacall and Frank Sinatra were an item? I certainly didn't until I read this memoir!

Forget Brad and Angelina. One of the biggest power couples in old Hollywood was the youthful Betty Bacall and her much older husband and legend, Humphrey Bogart. She tells the story so well and reveals that Bogie was truly a legend. Some details might even disappoint you, but they reveal the humanity of both husband and wife.

I walked away with a great respect and appreciation for Lauren Bacall after reading her memoir. She truly was a Hollywood legend in her own right. They don't make them like this anymore. Too bad.

This is such an immediate experience to read, and a very big juicy book full of real details and times.

Lauren Bacall is still a very alive person in my mind because of her book.

What a fascinating, interesting woman! And what a life! Old enough to have been part of the old Hollywood glamour world - young enough to tell about it. Great stuff
