I love this story! It is full of so many times that I can relate to, when I was May's age. It shows what family is really about, filled with happy times as well as sad.

A story with a lot of history both about pioneers and immigration woven into it, while at the same time maintaining a timeless quality that is easy to relate to this day. For anyone who knows how it feels to be left out, singled out, or seems to always get into trouble whether accidental or intentional.

When I first read this, I was a child, I didn't read a lot of it, but I remembered I loved it. So, I recently read it and it is better then I remembered! I love it SO much! The main character is such an amazing character. This book made me sob! It was very well written and a beautiful story. I recommend this book to any one who wants to feel like a child again, also someone who wants to shed a tear or two and also love old settings and years.
