It's a pretty good for a quick page-turner. This is the second Stone Barrington book I've read. In both, Stone seems to be a bit on the block-head side, missing significant clues that are apparent to the reader. The brief sex scenes are just plain wooden, as if the publisher told the writer that it needed some requisite sex scenes to sell. (I say delete them because they make no sense to the stories.) For his part, Stone's apparent success as a lawyer is despite his dim wits and inability to identify dishonest women. Maybe he's the fantasy figure for the everyman: successful even though he's not very smart; and he seems to be drawn to women who dump him. Gee...what's wrong with this picture? Stuart Woods has created an interesting character but I wonder if the character defects are intentional.
