An interesting read about a woman who brings up her daughter way out in the country where she sees hardly any other people except the old gardener, the milkman and the man who delivers oil for the big house ( they live in the gatehouse ) and has no contact with the outside world. She teaches the girl all her lessons and she never goes to school or meets any other kids. They have no phone or TV or newspapers. Her mother wants her to grow up pure and unsoiled by the outside world. There are three murders on the estate and unrequited love between the mother and the owner of the estate. Good ending.

A fascinating taunt tale about a girl who lives as a recluse with her mother. She struggles to come to terms with the horrifying probability that she’s inherited her mother’s murderous instincts.
