Surprisingly well written for a sequel, although not as good as the first book. I enjoyed reading this; it explains how Sam would cope with the wilderness without Frightful.

It takes place one year after My Side of the Mountain ends, two years after the beginning of My Side of the Mountain. A wonderful read!
