This book isn't for everyone. I gave it 4.5 out of 5. Need to wash your hands when you're through with it. many characters to dislike. Highly entertaining however and finished all 387 pages in less than 3 days

Author has a certain obsession with the topic-not exactly adequate relations between adult men and teenage girls. Somehow the same topic is also present upon in his book "Dear Mr. M." "The Dinner" I haven't read it yet, but judging by…

Absolutely great! I loved The Dinner and read this one next and I find myself thinking back to the story and characters of this book more. Koch is a master of the moral dilemma. Great mystery!

Sharp like a scalpel. Maybe shocking for some. Keeps you reading and in suspense. A well written psychological thriller.

I disliked the characters so much that it must have been a well written novel. Prefered his first book.

"'An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth' is in fact much closer to human nature than we dare to publicly admit, " Herzl taught us...Dead. Gone. We never want to see the murderers and rapists back on the streets again.' With this…

More disturbing than "The Dinner" but an equally compelling novel about crime, punishment and psychopathy.

The opening chapter was very entertaining, but after that I did not find it too funny.

While this novel can be read as just a mystery with some wincing moments, it is much more than that. Good mystery novels involve moral dilemmas. Boring ones pit pure evil against pure innocence. This does neither. There are no typical…

I don't agree...... "leaves you with an overwhelmingly bitter aftertaste. Koch's characters have little humanity; they’re always hiding something and never really let you in. It’s world with hopelessly damaged people..........." I thought…

Did not finish this book. I really enjoyed The Dinner, and was looking forward to this book. I didn't like it from page 1.

I had eagerly awaited the next book by this author, as I absolutely loved "The Dinner". This next offering did not disappoint. Koch has the ability to grab your attention from the first page. I love how his characters are flawed, non-PC…

Very disappointing after reading The Dinner by Koch, which I enjoyed. Skip reading this book, unless you enjoy reading a book where you dislike every character in the book.

This book has it all...good plot, characters ,suspense and good writing. The adults, who are blessed with brains, looks and money are capable of doing the right thing, but precisely because of those assets, and untested by prior…

Just like his previous novel, "The Dinner,'" this one is dark, sinister and very very disturbing..... but Herman Koch is a masterful writer with a first-person narrator you learn to like and dislike in equal measures. The story line is…
